Airports
Baltimore Washington International Airport, located in Baltimore serves both Maryland and Washington D.C. It is a hub for Southwest Airlines and the airport has added recent renovations including a new Southwest terminal wing. MARC and Amtrak serve a nearby train station which includes transport to Union Station in Washington D.C. and LightRail services to downtown Baltimore. The airport can also provide pick-up services and shuttles.
Dulles International Airport, located in Sterling, VA provides domestic and international flights to the Virginia, D.C. metropolitan area. Its central location provides easy access to the metropolitan area and hosts most domestic airlines as well as international flights. Construction has begun for the new Metro Silver Line. The project is planned to be complete by 2016. The airport has good ground transportation through shuttles, the metro bus service, and pick-up services.
Reagan National Airport, known as National Airport, is located right across the Potomac River from downtown Washington, D.C. Its Arlington location makes it a central airport for all of the D.C. metropolitan area. The airport provides only domestic flights except for a few flights to Canada and the Caribbean. The airport has direct service to Metro's Yellow and Blue lines from right outside of the terminal which makes it a popular airport for tourists and visitors looking to visit Washington. The airport also provides good ground transportation with shuttles, pick-ups and bus transport.
